Why We Need Christian Education by Mrs. Janet Etters, Principal

Christian education begins with the reality of God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, one God in three persons, who created and sustains all things.  At the very heart of Christian faith we are taught to love God and our neighbor. This teaches our students to be loving, caring citizens and to show kindness and respect. Our Christian values shape our students’ character to act in an honest, just and responsible way. We encourage them to realize their God-given talents and seek the highest standards in everything they do.

The academic instruction at Cornerstone Christian exceeds the instruction given in our public school systems. The fact that we have stricter standards of behavior, and higher expectations of academic standards, opens the doors for your child’s life of future satisfaction and success. The benefits of sound education that is offered at Cornerstone Christian are far-reaching and more long-term. True Christian education involves loving and edifying instruction, grounded in God’s gracious revelation.

While no school is perfect, Christian education plays a vital role in the training of our children, and I believe it is absolutely essential. When it comes to the future of our children, we must make Christian education a priority.

Satan is the master deceiver, and He desperately wants us to think that Christian education is not really important and that the public schools can educate our children just fine. Christian children in public schools cannot and are not equipped to be missionaries, even though your child may be a very strong Christian, Satan will use every technique and argument he can to trick us into complacency. But we can’t afford to be fooled.

We as parents and grandparents are responsible to train them according to His word not only at home and church, but in school as well. Without the Bible being taught in the classroom, by God fearing, loving people; education is nothing more than the blind leading the blind. The Bible is at the center of our curriculum and woven throughout all subjects. You can count on our teachers not being “neutral” when it comes to evolution, sin and moral standards.

Placing your child at Cornerstone Christian School may mean a financial sacrifice, but the joy that comes from watching your child mature in the Lord and grow academically makes it all worth it.

It has been and will continue to be a pleasure serving the families that come through the doors of Cornerstone Christian School.

In Christ,

Janet
